This oil painting by Anthony Toney done in 1961 was one of many works that chronicled the lives of his extended family. His uncle, Louis Simon who was married to his mothers sister, Mary Betor, had died the year before. Both had immigrated to the United States from Syria. In the background his aunt is featured as well as a typical family picnic in the Adirondacks and behind that the silhouette of his hometown of Gloversville.
