My studio mate Amy loves hats. Although we live in San Francisco it might get chilly even during summer. And Amy has the hat for every occasion. She has a fascination with the head wear. She buys them on the street or has them made to order. As a matter of fact the hats seem very organic on her, as a part of her personality. Or... shall I say her personality matches the hat she is wearing? She was gracious enough to sit for me and I painted two of her portraits - this one is finished and called "Amy in the Kitty-Cat Hat".
