Cell Space, San Francisco, CA

Project 2048 seeks to bring artists from around the world to work, teach and create new and exciting projects and performances. The artist in residency program offers an environment for creative growth, experimentation and collaborative inspiration with other artists and the San Francisco arts community. Artists will be provided with living accommodations, a workspace, access to the Internet and a chance to present their work as the culmination of the residency. Artists will also be exposed to the diverse arts of the Bay Area.

Villa Aurora

Villa Aurora is operated by sister German and U.S. organizations. The Los Angeles program accepts up to 16 writers, visual artists, photographers, art historians, and filmmakers from Europe annually for 3-month residencies. In Berlin, 3-month residencies are awarded each year in literature, music composition, and film to 12 young (up to 40 years old) writers and artists living and working in Germany; 2 artists working together may share one grant. Visual artists are accepted by invitation only; students are not eligible.

Artists' Enclave at l-Park

I-Park, a 450-acre woodland retreat in East Haddam, CT, is offering residency opportunities from May through November 2011 in the following creative disciplines: Visual (including Environmental) Art, Music Composition/Sound Sculpture, Moving Image, Creative Writing and Landscape/Garden Design. Most sessions are 4-weeks in duration.

The program is offered free of charge to those accepted by the selection panels. Accommodations include comfortable private living quarters and a private studio. Six $750 travel grants will be offered to international artists whose work is held in particularly high regard by the Grant Committee.
