MassachusettsRadcliffe Institute for Advanced StudyFellowship Program Radcliffe College 34 Concord Avenue Cambridge, MA 02138 The fellowships support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishments who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts. The Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender, and society; women and men from the United States and throughout the world, including developing countries, are encouraged to apply, and are expected to live and work in the Boston area. Fellows receive office/ studio space, access to libraries and other resources of Harvard University, and a stipend for 1 year, with additional funds for project expenses. Contemporary Artists Center189 Beaver Street North Adams, MA 01247 The Center offers residencies (1 week to whole summer) from May to October for emerging, professional contemporary artists. Residency fee includes accommodations and access to all CAC facilities. The program offers free studio space to furniture makers for 1 month to 1 year. Preference for 1 of the 6 fellowships is given to Maine-based woodworkers, with particular emphasis on emerging makers. Month-long and 2-week residencies for emerging artists to work solo, collabo-ratively, or with a mentor (stipend to cover food and supplies). Month-long residencies for nature photographers (women only); successful proposals will connect with and build upon Nadine Blacklock's aesthetic sensibilities (no stipend currently available). Cornucopia Art Center, Lanesboro Residency Program103 Parkway Avenue North, P.O. Box 152 Lanesboro, MN 55949 Located in the historic downtown, the Center offers 4-6 residencies per year (1-4 weeks each) to emerging artists. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, though primary consideration will be given to sculptors, painters, poets, and writers; all applicants must reside in the United States. Franconia Sculpture Park29815 Unity Avenue Shafer, MN 55074 The 16-acre sculpture park, located in the scenic St. Croix River Valley, is open to artist/sculptors for a work-exchange residency/internship, 6 weeks to 6 months. Student, graduate, and post-grad artists participate in the intern/mentor program; recent grads and students of museum studies/arts administration are encouraged to apply. Intern artists are encouraged to create their own work, and up to 6 interns are provided room and board. Studio residencies vary in length, and include secure access to MCBA's facilities and dedicated, secure storage space for work and supplies. Residencies include a monetary award, studio space, and glaze and firing allowances (housing not included). Artists-in-residence present a public workshop/lecture, and receive an honorarium. MissouriGrand Arts1819 Grand Boulevard Kansas City, MO 64108 Grand Arts, with a 3,000-square-foot gallery and 5,ooo-square-foot studio, provides studio residencies for the creation and exhibition of new work in sculpture. Grand Arts provides substantial financial, technical, and logistical support to emerging or established artists, and solicits proposals for projects locally, nationally, and internationally from both emerging and established artists.
