This lovely soft color comes from a new paint I treated myself to--Quinacridone Red.  Mixed with Payne's Gray, it created this beautiful mauve color.  This is painted on soft raw silk adhered to a board--it gives a really nice texture.  The title comes from the startling way huge rocks suddenly rise from the desert floor.
