Images reveal themselves when I become involved with the process and give my creativity the freedom to develop naturally. A historical reference develops with layers of intense hues and underlying textures. Calligraphic lines often define the allusion of subtle forms and symbols. I am most comfortable with an intuitive approach to a minimalist style of abstraction or stylized forms where the viewer is left to interpret as they please. Art connects me with my spiritual, intellectual and creative energy. I received a BA in Art and Teaching Credential in 1966-67 and have over 30 years of teaching art and ceramics, along with exhibiting and selling artwork. I currently teach ceramics for the Mastick Senior Center in Alameda, CA and other workshops at my Clay Art Studio. In all this time, I remain humble to the realization that art is about the process of creation more than the finished product.
