I was born in California and studied literature, anthropology, and ethnic dance, and worked in bookstores before returning to art. My influences come from travel in Europe, Asia, and Central America, and from a deep connection with the Rocky Mountains. I studied art at the Fort Mason Art Campus of San Francisco City College, and at mask-making and painting workshops in Bali and France.
I work with figurative, narrative, and symbolic images, and am most fascinated by the dynamic and changing force of mythic storytelling.
