COLLECTION/PROPERTY OF OSCAR ABELIUK, M.D.
This little sculpture traveled well to New York in May of 2004. It successfully passed through the rude treatment of conveyor belts and hanging rubber fringes to be scanned, and it emerged unscathed. After that, it was judged to be FIRST PRIZE OF SCULPTURE at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in a tough competition with about 25 other sculptures, among which there were three beautiful marbles, two excellent woodcarvings and a couple very good bronzes. These tango dancers performed in New York and came back to the Bay Area with a triumphal Ocho. It is said that Tango es un pensamiento triste que se baila(Tango is a sad thought that you can dance). These tango dancers are lost in the sensuality of movement and music.
