This ceramic sculpture is part of the series Homage to Diego Velazquez.
It is inspired on his portrait of the 14 year old Queen Mariana, who married at that youn age, her uncle Phillip of Spain.
She was the mother of the sweet "Menina", Princess Margarita, who is the center of the inmortal painting "Las Meninas' by Velazquez
This sculpture is actualy a box, with the petitcoat, being the base and the body and skirt, the upper part.
The smaller Sculpture Princess Margarita fits confortably inside her mama.
