It's true. As a kid on the east end of Long Island I would find myself reading volumes during the winter months. At 14 I read the Autobiography of Vincent Price. His one piece of solid advice? No matter how rich or poor you are, avail yourself of the pleasure of art.
Flash cut to 1984, I'm living in a low rent apartment in Hollywood, Ca. scraping by on "go-fer" wages in the visual effects business. Andreas, Gary Lockwood came by the shop one day with conceptual artwork by you for a proposed science fiction film. To make a long story short, I took a months wages and drove down to Beverly Hills and purchased my first of a dozen of your works from Gallery Michael.
Some of those works hung in that Hollywood apt. for years before the "ship" came in. They rest now in our Pasadena residence, often the subject of the most intense conversations. I thank you for the inspiration your work has offered over the years. I thank Vincent Price for opening my eyes to the importance that inspiration has in life.

Greetings Andreas & Tess,
For some reason I've really been focused on the both of you lately...EXP'ed a VERY INTENSE mind movie last night...I dreamed the three of us were partying together way out on your property in the backyard...inside a WHITE HOUSE TRAILER...that you-two showed me how to transform into a SILVER TENT PALACE...until it burned down after catching fire from all the lit candles...then I woke up in a cold sweat! WTF?

Ciao Andreas! Hope this message finds you in great health and spirits. I've been living in Italy the past few years, flying for Ryanair, of all airlines.
I still have the space shuttle prints you gave me back in 1995, nicely framed and hanging in my house in Monterey, where I married my dear Raffaella last year (we have a lovely daughter now, Sofia, born March 17, 2008).
If you ever do a show in Italy, please put me on the advance notice list! And if you are in touch with Simon Weinberg, pass my email to him and tell him I still love him!
Ciao, baci e abbraci, Jim

My wife and I started our art collection recently and bought one of your "windows" pieces from Thom at New Gallery. You are our favorite artist and it seemed appropriate to begin our collection with one of your pieces. Your work is truly ahead of its time. Thank you and keep up the amazing work.

Andreas, I love everything I've seen. A couple years ago, my mother wrote you(Sandy Newman) about a piece we both fell in love with, but couldn't afford at the time. I think the piece was "The Bridge..." I would love to own a print of it. Could you please tell me what that might have been? And as always, keep up the beautiful work.

I studied this site this morning.... I think that we should devise a way to transfer what the human eye observes when engaging your art, (And that is the best way to describe it, engaging). To bottle that magic that dances within it's living image. Then apply it as a cover page on this site.
Find the way...
. It is GOOD that it is difficult to accomplish!.
It supports the fact that your work is so original !

Andreas,
It was such a pleasure to meet you and Tess this weekend. Little did we know that we were about to go through the looking glass on a personally curated art tour. WOW! we're still amazed and talking to everyone we know about the experience of a kind of wall art that takes you into another realm.
And then to have you come into the cafe yesterday. What a wonderful surprise. Thanks so much for supporting us in our little art.
Looking forward to more lazy afternoons of music and conversation on the lanai.
Love to both of you from both of us.

My husband and I admired your work for years--even our college age son was a great admirer and visited your gallery (Weinstein) often when he was living in SF. We finally purchased one around 2000. Since then my husband passed away unexpectedly and the 'universal' theme has taken on new meaning for me. Please keep creating great things.

I was in a gallery dwon from the Clift House Hotel. There was a painting on the 3rd floor---I think it was called Zen Universe or something similar. It was very large. I live in a townhouse and have never been able to get that painting out of my mind.
What is the title? And are there any smaller versions of it.
Thank you for sharing your gift. Regards, Barb

Had a wonderful time at the party last night. Tania, my niece Walsy and I could not stop talking about it on the drive back home. Thank you for showing us your gorgeous home. It is definitely one of a kind and I love it.
The art at your workshop was FANTASTIC. Thanks for showing it to us personally. Again, my apologies for comparing it to antique Persian Rugs. I happen to collect and love them, you see. Anyway, keep well and give my love to your lovely wife Tess.
Best regards,
Joy
P.S. I came home with the Sarong you handed me to get out of my 6-pound Victorian outfit. I'd have it washed and sent back to you if you wish. Not sure if you meant what you said for me to 'keep it'.

Several years ago, my daughter and I saw a picture by you, that first drew our attention to your work, but that time was the only time I have seen the picture. It seems like there was a bridge over a very deep chasm. Contained a lot of red, seems like. Did we imagine this picture or was it for real? If so, could you tell me the title of the piece of work? All of you pieces are breathtaking!!
