ArtLaunch Kicks Off 4 Weekends of SF Open Studios!!

October 10 - November 3; Oct 10 at SOMArts 6-9pm; weekend Open Studios 11am-6pm, San Francisco

Its that time of year again, where artists all over the city open the doors of their studios to the public!

And it all begins with ArtLaunch on Thursday, October 10 from 6-9pm at SOMArts, where all participating artists will have work on the gallery walls, before the studios at Hunter's Point open their doors to the public on Saturday October 12 at 11am. That weekend's Open Studio will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

While ArtLaunch is a ticketed, general admission event for those 21 and over and includes an open bar and food-with creative cocktail attire encouraged-access to all the weekend SF Open Studios is FREE

Among the participating artists this year will be John Musgrove, whose Sunset District, Hopper influenced cityscapes communicate a palpable sense of place, who will open his studio to the public on the 2nd weekend, October 19 & 20.

"We often take the ever-present "ordinary" features of the landscape for granted, seeing past them or not seeing them at all," he says. "But to me, mailboxes and traffic signs have a beauty deserving of our notice. While the elements of the urban landscape are central to my work, light and shadow are the unifying forces."
