Ikuko worked as a commercial Audio-Visual Producer/Director in Tokyo for more than 15 years before she studied fine arts. Since then, she has been enjoying painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor. She also enjoys Printmaking.
Her interest was first inspired by studying traditional Japanese paintings �Nihonga� in Tokyo. She extended her art education at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California and through various workshops.
Her recent paintings focus on plein-air landscapes in oil & watercolor as well as loose aclyic and oil paintings. She also enjoys printmaking, particularly monotypes in etching ink and watercolor.
She is affiliated with California Watercolor Association (CWA), Pro Arts, Oakland Art Association (OAA), Marine Society of Arts (MSA), El Cerrito Art Association (ECAA)and East Bay Plein-Air Painters (EBPAP).
