Natalia Rachkovskaya was born in 1948 in the city of Minsk, Belarus, the country that was the former Soviet Union republic for a long time and that was the land where the art of Marc Chagall and well-known Vitebsk art school were created. Natalia graduated from the Belorussian State University of Arts and Theatre in 1972. She made numerous mosaics, glass-paintings, ceramics, sculptures etc. working at the Artistic Production Complex in Minsk. From 1972 her ceramics could be viewed at the art exhibitions in the republic of Belarus and many republics of the former USSR. Since 1986 she has been working with easel paintings participating in one-man and group exhibitions in Belarus and abroad. In 1988 she joined the the Union of Belorussian Artists. In 1995 she was granted the membership of the UNESCO International Federation of Artists. She started expressing her ideas in non-objective art on the canvas at the time when art of that kind was banned on the territory of Belarus, and continues creating colorful and subtle works till now, but today her collection consists also of graphic, pastel and numerous ceramic works.
