	I moved to California when I was 8 years old from South Africa in 1973. While growing up amidst the beauty of Santa Barbara's mountains and sea, it was easy for me to be delighted by pastimes of surfing and painting, and soon I found many common themes between the two.. natural beauty and the sublime dance between mind and body is what attracts me. When I am lucky, I capture a feeling and an image that is a kind of filtered translation of my experience.
