I use books as a platform to explore the boundaries of my visual and philosophical expression - I especially like being able to carve into and out of the form - the words culled from the text become an integral part of the the process - I am drawn to the trans-formative nature of re-presenting the book in a new context.
Why "Circularity"...? I see interrelationships forming a natural pattern of circularity that overlap like the concentric rings rippling out from a group of cast stones. Written "circulars" serve the purpose of sharing information. The spinning second hand, marking the passing but not the measuring of time, is continually pointing at a different word or phrase so that the viewer's experience of the piece can change in a given moment.
