  Description

"I, Paul Tillich, give my name to this place, and dedicate the ground of this park..to a new reality, conquering what is estranged and reuniting what belongs to each other, in the power of the Spiritual Presence."

Paul Tillich, 1963, New Harmoney, Indiana

Hush, tilt your head just so
to hear the sweet breeze
in the trees along the banks,
and the voices of ghost boatmen
from a time when this river was the life blood
of a thriving utopia.

Listen closely, and you will hear
the bustle of farmers and traders,
scholars and artists
from round the world
drawn to this small Indiana town
by a vision of hope
and New Harmony.
