This print was handprinted using the reduction method invented by Picasso. Through a series of progressive cuttings, inkings, and printings, the image slowly emerges while the actual block is destroyed. A reduction print can therefore never be reprinted. Contemporary painter, photographer, and printmaker, Chuck Close, used this process in creating the Alex Reduction Block. 2007 Linoleum Block Print. Hand carved & printed on Japanese Mulberry paper. Unframed.
