About the work:
'Hale Ke Kohola's' inspiration came from experiences while chasing whales and dolphins on board the Manate'a, Ocean Odessey and the Lani Kai in Maui.
While snorkeling on many occasions, humpback whales would come within view of those in the water and would afford a spectacular view of the whales as they would glide by.
It is truly a humbling experience to see a leviathan gliding within mere feet of you, and it tolerates your presence allowing you the chance to be witness to its' life.
