	Matthew is a 4th generation visual artist who has worked as painter, web designer, teacher and theatre director. Matthew is currently employed as a lecturer in the art department at Cal State Hayward while pursuing an MFA degree in Studio Arts at JFK University's Dept. of Arts and Consciousness program in Berkeley.

The majority of Matthew's artistic energy has been focused on creating acrylic paintings, group rituals and participatory journeys. Matthew's most recent solo exhibit is Elemental, a one person show of new paintings at the June Steingart Gallery at Laney College. He has exhibited in Bay Area group shows and as as part of East Bay Open Studios. He also shares his joy of painting by holding painting ritual workshops in which participants engage in collaborative action painting for insight into questions about their life.(p) (/p)
