This print is one of my all time favorite photographs. I feel lucky to have captured it. But luck comes when opportunity meets preparation...I had my 645 Hasselblad camera and tripod in tow. An 8 foot swell was running and I climbed out to a small outcrop of rock as the sun was setting. In a matter of moments the fading sun cast an amazing golden light over the clouds and the ocean. I set my camera for a deep depth of field and the resulting slow shutter really captured the magnitude of the incoming swell just before it exploded on the exposed rocks. Just as quickly the light dimmed and then night fell...but I left with this shot."
